# Google Analytics

> Track portal visitors with Google Analytics

Add Google Analytics to your portal to understand how visitors engage with your announcements.

## Quick Setup

1. Navigate to **Portal** → **Settings** → **Analytics**
2. Select **Google Analytics**
3. Enter your Measurement ID (G-XXXXXXXXXX)
4. Save changes

  Google Analytics script automatically loads on all portal pages. No additional code needed.

## What You Can Track

* **Page views** - Which announcements get the most attention
* **Traffic sources** - How visitors find your changelog
* **User behavior** - Time on page, bounce rate
* **Conversions** - Newsletter signups, feedback submissions

## Finding Your Measurement ID

1. Sign in to [Google Analytics](https://analytics.google.com)
2. Select your property
3. Go to **Admin** → **Data Streams**
4. Click your web stream
5. Copy the Measurement ID (starts with G-)

  Changes take effect immediately. Allow 24-48 hours for data to appear in Google Analytics.

## Privacy Considerations

* Respects visitor DNT (Do Not Track) settings
* No personal data collected by default
* Cookie consent handled by your portal settings
